When can I withdraw funds if I sell/close a position today?
Pay-out requests are valid for 5 calendar days. Hence, you can place a request to withdraw your funds on the trading day itself and the funds will be credited to your bank account after the settlement of the trade.
In India we follow a rolling settlement cycle, which means that delivery trades are settled as follows:
- Equity- 1 trading day after the transaction date (T+1).
- Derivatives- 1 trading day after the transaction date (T+1).
The pay-out is initiated as soon as the funds are settled in your account, provided that settlement falls within the request validity period of 5 calendar days.
Pay-out requests are processed depending on the fund balance held in your account.
For example, you place a withdrawal request for Rs. 1 lakh and you have only Rs. 50,000 available in your trading account. In this case, a pay-out for Rs. 50,000 is issued and the request is considered to be completed.
On the other hand, if you place a pay-out request for Rs. 1 lakh after selling shares for this amount, the pay-out is issued after settlement of the trade (T+1).

- Pay-outs are processed after considering trades executed during the day and applicable peak margin requirements.
- Any pay-out requests by clients having open MTF positions will be processed after market hours so as to account for any MTF-related shortages or losses.
The pay-outs are processed as per the SEBI circular
If you have registered a secondary bank account, you will have the option of selecting which account you want funds credited to.
