What is the procedure to change my demat account status from BSDA to RSDA?
As per SEBI Circulars dated June 28, 2024 and December 24, 2025, in cases where a client is eligible for a Basic Services Demat Account (BSDA) but wishes to continue with or switch to a Regular Demat Account (RSDA), the client is required to provide explicit consent which can be through an authenticated and verifiable channel, including but not limited to email or other digital modes.The client must submit a written / email request clearly stating the followig declaration:
“I wish to opt out of the BSDA facility and continue with / convert my demat account to a Regular Demat Account.”
