What is an Exchange Traded Fund (ETF)?

Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) are essentially mutual fund schemes or index funds. Units of these schemes are listed and traded on the stock exchanges like shares, and held in your demat account. The different types of ETFs include GoldLiquidEquity and International.

Advantages:
  • ETFs are continually priced and can be bought and sold throughout the trading day.
  • Like trading in stocks, buying and selling ETFs is extremely simple, allowing investors to take advantage of intraday movements.
  • Investors can take exposure to an entire index with a low investment amount.

ETFs can be bought and sold through our trading platform FLIP.

If you are an NRI placing an ETF order, you will see a pop-up message :

“As you are placing an ETF order that has to be settled from your NRE Savings Account linked to your NRE PIS Account, please ensure sufficient funds in your NRE Savings Account latest by 4pm IST. Do you want to proceed?”
