Why does a dollar symbol appear next to the name of some shares?
While searching on Flip, you might notice a dollar symbol beside certain share names in NSE. This indicates that the stock is listed only on the BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange). They can't be traded on the NSE.
In rare or special situations (like a potential outage that may occur during trading hours), they can be traded on the NSE, but under normal circumstances, they can’t be traded on the NSE. That means you won’t see their trading value or security details on NSE.
So, if you want to trade such a stock, just look for the same scrip listed on the BSE instead. You can see the same share name without the dollar symbol in BSE.
