What is an SGB Tranche?
Investment-wise, a Tranche refers to a security that can be split up into smaller pieces and subsequently sold to investors.
In the case of SGBs, the Government issues the bonds for sale in portions and intervals. This interval is called a tranche and generally lasts for 4-5 days. SGB applications must be made during the period.
